U12'S: U12 division 2a final - Castlerea 4-5 , Strokestown 2-6Strokestown were defeated by a physcially strong Castlerea side in a very close encounter.Strokestown dominated the early exchanges but could not get the scores on the board.Castlerea scored 2 goals against the run of play, but Strokestown replied with a brialliant goal from Tara Rodgers from a long ballfrom Aoife Shiel, Jill mullolly caused havoc in the castlerea defence in the 2nd half and scored a super goal to bring Strokestown right back into the match, but hard as they tried they could not get back on level terms and Castlerea were deserving winners.It was some consolation to Strokestown that they had the best player on view in Shiofra Tiernan. They also had good performances from Elanor Hanley , Grainne Geoghegan , Caithlin Flanagan and Caroline Beirne in defence ,Jill and Aoife in midfield and Rebecca Compton, Colleen Cauneen and Tara Rodgers in attack.Team Elanor Hanley, Claire Brogan, Grainne Geoghegan, Caithlin Flanagan, Sarah Madden, Shiofra Tiernan, Caroline Beirne , Aoife Sheil, Gill Mullolly, Rebecca Lee.
