Hard luck to Aisling Hanley and Colleen Cosgrove who were on the Roscommon county u14 team who were defeated in the All-Ireland B final against Clare. Well done to Maire Mullooly, Niamh Mc Hugh and Sarah Brudell who were part of the Roscommon county minor team who beat Sligo on friday last.

U12 Final 14/06/09
U12'S: U12 division 2a final - Castlerea 4-5 , Strokestown 2-6Strokestown were defeated by a physcially strong Castlerea side in a very close encounter.Strokestown dominated the early exchanges but could not get the scores on the board.Castlerea scored 2 goals against the run of play, but Strokestown replied with a brialliant goal from Tara Rodgers from a long ballfrom Aoife Shiel, Jill mullolly caused havoc in the castlerea defence in the 2nd half and scored a super goal to bring Strokestown right back into the match, but hard as they tried they could not get back on level terms and Castlerea were deserving winners.It was some consolation to Strokestown that they had the best player on view in Shiofra Tiernan. They also had good performances from Elanor Hanley , Grainne Geoghegan , Caithlin Flanagan and Caroline Beirne in defence ,Jill and Aoife in midfield and Rebecca Compton, Colleen Cauneen and Tara Rodgers in attack.Team Elanor Hanley, Claire Brogan, Grainne Geoghegan, Caithlin Flanagan, Sarah Madden, Shiofra Tiernan, Caroline Beirne , Aoife Sheil, Gill Mullolly, Rebecca Lee. U12`s are through to County Final! 7/06/09
U12's: U12 are through to Division 2A county final.After an enthralling game in Tarmonbarry the ran out winners by a single point scoreline strokestown 6-1 barrys 4-6.The first half was dominated by barrys and but for some resolute defending and excellant goal keeping by elanor hanley they would have had agreater lead than 4 points to 1 at half time. Barrys increased their lead at the start of the 2nd half, but then an inspiritaional goal by Sophia Green got Strokestown back in the game.Gill Mullolly and Aoife Shiel took control at midfield and both scored goals to put strokestown in control. But Barrys never gave up and replied with goals of their own.But Strokestown held on for a famous victory with some stout defending from Grainne geoghegan , Sarah Madden and Siofra Tiernen in particular, But overall it was a tremendious team effort.They play in County Final on saturday and deserve great support.Team : Elanor Hanley, Claire Brogan, Grainne Geoghegan, Caithlin Flanagan, Sarah Madden, Shiofra Tiernan, Caroline Beirne , Aoife Sheil, Gill Mullolly, Rebecca Lee, Colleen Cauneen, Rebecca Compton, Shauna Mc Dermott, Sophia Green and Tara Rodgers

Junior: Hard luck to The Sportsmans Inn Ladies football team who went down narrowly to Oran in the Div. 2 League final last Sunday on a scoreline of 5-7 to 5-6 in blistering conditions. Junior and U12 24/05/09
Junior: The Sportsmans Inn Ladies football team had a very impressive win over Boyle in their last league game last Friday evening in Boyle. Michael Glaveys then conceided the semi final so the girls go through to the div. 2 league final which will be next Sunday the 31st at 12pm, see fixtures for venue. Please support the girls in the final! There will be a meeting on Friday night at 9.30pm sharp in the Percy French hotel for the junior girls and management.
U12'S: The U12's drew with Eire Óg in the last game of the league and have qualified for the division 2 "A" semi-final.

Junior Championship: The Juniors had a very impressive win over St. Dominics in the first round of the Junior B championship. The girls will have a league match next weekend.

U12: The U12`s lost to Boyle 4-6 to 3-1 on Sunday last. Scorers were Sophia Greene (2-0), Aoife Shiel(1-1). Training Thursday at 7.30pm

U12: The U12`s played two matches during week and lost out on both occasions to physically stronger teams. Their first match was against St.Brigids, the score was St Bridgids 3-2 Strokestown 0-4. Scorers Aoife Sheil 0-1, Jill Mullolly 0-1 and Eleanor Hanley 0-2. Their second match was against Roscommon Gaels, the score was Roscommon Gaels 3-4 Strokestown 1-3, scorers Aoife Sheil 0-3, Jill Mullolly 1-0. Next game against Boyle next sunday,Training on Monday evenings at 7pm. Any player not registered must do so at training.

U12s had their first match on Monday last against St Croans and were winners on a scoreline of 2-6 to 0-1.Scorers Sophie Green 1-1, Elanor Hanley 1-1, Aoife Sheil 0-2, Rebecca Compton 0-1 and jill Mullolly 0-1. U12 play St Bridgits on Monday evening in Strokestown at 6-30.
U14 played St Ciarans in the feile on Thursday evening in very wet conditions and after dominating the first half in which they led 0-4 to no score at half timethey lost out in the second half against a stiff breeze. Final score 3-4 to 1-5 . Scorers Ashling Hanley 1-4, Ashling Mc Aulliffe 0-1.
