U12`s are through to County Final! 7/06/09

U12's: U12 are through to Division 2A county final.After an enthralling game in Tarmonbarry the ran out winners by a single point scoreline strokestown 6-1 barrys 4-6.The first half was dominated by barrys and but for some resolute defending and excellant goal keeping by elanor hanley they would have had agreater lead than 4 points to 1 at half time. Barrys increased their lead at the start of the 2nd half, but then an inspiritaional goal by Sophia Green got Strokestown back in the game.Gill Mullolly and Aoife Shiel took control at midfield and both scored goals to put strokestown in control. But Barrys never gave up and replied with goals of their own.But Strokestown held on for a famous victory with some stout defending from Grainne geoghegan , Sarah Madden and Siofra Tiernen in particular, But overall it was a tremendious team effort.They play in County Final on saturday and deserve great support.Team : Elanor Hanley, Claire Brogan, Grainne Geoghegan, Caithlin Flanagan, Sarah Madden, Shiofra Tiernan, Caroline Beirne , Aoife Sheil, Gill Mullolly, Rebecca Lee, Colleen Cauneen, Rebecca Compton, Shauna Mc Dermott, Sophia Green and Tara Rodgers
