Two in a Row as Juniors win Final-06/12/09

Junior: Congratulations to the Sportsmans Inn sponsered Junior B team won the Junior B championship last Saturday in Kilmore against St.Barrys. In terrible conditions the girls pulled away with a win, despite St.Barrys effort. Thanks to Ronie Shiel, Shane Flaherty, Eamonn Beirne, Eileen Beirne and Carmelita for all their hard work.

Historic Weekend for Club as Minors win Final! 30/11/09

Minor: It was a historic day for Strokestown Ladies Club on winning there first Div 1A Title as the Regan Structural Steel Minor girls brought home the Minor Div 1A Cup. They played Kilglass Gaels last Sunday in Kilbride. After playing against a very strong breeze in the first half, Strokestown went in at half-time two points up and ran out easy winners on a scoreline of scoreline of 4-13 to 1-7. this was a very good team performance. Congratulations to all the girls and thanks to Dick Togher, Martin McDermott, Paul Fahy, David Brudell, Ann Kelly, Diane Mullooly and Geraldine Brudell.

Junior: Another big weekend in store for Strokestown as The Sportsman Inn Sponsered Junior team take on Tarmonbarry on Saturday next. Venue to be confirmed. Come out and cheer on the girls.

Scór and Bowling night 22/11/09

Scór: Strokestown Ladies Club is helping out with the Scór dancing competition to be held in Ballyleague next Saturday night.
Bowling: We are appealing for all club members to come and support Colm Dowd's fundraising Bowling night for the Development Fund next Saturday night in Roscommon Bowling Alley. Contact Colm for details and available space.

Minor Girls reach final 22/11/09

Minor: Our Minor girls sponsered be Regan Structural Steel are now through to the Division 1A Minor Final against Kilglass Gaels next Sunday at 1.30pm. The girls played St.Brigids last Sunday in the semi-final in gael force conditions but came away with a great win of 2-15 to 1-4. Please come out to support the girls in the final. Three wins for Minor Girls!1/11/09

Minor: On the bank holiday weekend we played Kilglass Gaels in Ballyleague. Despite terrible weather conditions, the girls won the game by 19 points. It was a great team performance. The next round was played on the Bank Holiday against St.Brigids away and also won this game by 12points. The girls then played Clan NaGael last Saturday in Monksland and won on a scoreline of 0-21 to 3-5. They have now qualified for the semi finals of the Div1 A Champioship but now have to wait for play offs to take place before they know there opponents.

U14's win Final!18/10/09

U14: On Saturday the 10th of October our U14 girls were victorious over Four Roads in the U14 Div. 1B Final. The game was played in Knockcroghery and the girls won by four points on a scoreline of 2-8 to 1-7. This was a great team performance and when the pressure came on the girls really stood up to it. The team was Aisling Hanley, Grainne Geoghan, Kirsty McKay, Deirdre Convey, Aoife Shiel, Colleen Cosgrove, Jill Mulloolly, Lorna Flanagan, Michelle Mulloolly, Ruta Sumskaite, Triona Kelly, Siofra Tiernan, Linda Gunn, Aishling MacAuliffe(Capt.), Elanor Hanley, Mary McDermott, Mikeala O`Rourke, Sarah Madden, Sophia Greene, Colleen Cauneen and Judy McDermott. Well Done to Peter Hanley, Pat Cosgove, Diane Mulloolly and Meave Hanley for all their hard work and effort. Also thanks to The Silver Eel who provided the girls with a lovely meal afterwards.
Minor: The minor girls played against Western Gaels last Sunday the 11th. It was a very fast and exciting game and they won on a scoreline of 4-8 to 4-7. They had no match this weekend but will play Kilglass next Saturday and St.Brigids next Monday. See fixtures for details.
Second Team: The second team played Padraig Pearses last Friday evening in the semi final. Unfortunately the girls lost and are now out of the competition. The game ended n a scoreline of 3-7 to 0-6. Well done to all who took part in this competition, hope to see everyone again next year!

Minor girls win 4/10/09

Minor: The minor girls had a great win over near neighbours St.Marys last Sunday. They won on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-04. The girls will now play Western Gaels next weekend, see fixtures for details.
